Match Summary
Portishead made the long journey down into Cornwall to take on one of their county's biggest and best non league teams on the back of two heavy defeats and missing the likes of Holder, Hughes, Gill, Lynch, Knight and Ganfield through a mixture of injury and unavailability.

Manager Dave Willis gave starting debuts to teenagers Charman, Gibson and White in what turned out to be a gripping cup tie, the home side started brightly but Posset's young defence held firm and Bodmin were restricted to long range efforts and crosses which keeper Tucker and his backline dealt with relatively easy.

Posset's captain Pettitt was working tirelessly in midfield to thwart the home sides probings and young striker Danny Benn was keeping the home defence on their toes with his willingness to chase down all lost causes, indeed such was the home sides frustration that the referee had to put five Bodmin players in his book before half time arrived.

The second period saw Bodmin throw more men forward in an attempt to break the young Posset sides resolve and this tactic worked in Posset's favour and after a rare sortie into the Bodmin half brilliant work by Gibson released Mapstone into the box and he was duly upended to give Posset a penalty and top scorer Clarke stepped to power the spot kick into the top corner.

Bodmin continued to pour forward and only a fantastic last ditch tackle from full back Clements stopped the home side from levelling. Time was running out for the home favourites and Posset's tactics looked to have won the day only for the home side to finally equalise in the 89th minute when their star striker finished well from 18 yards out.

The tie went into extra time and Posset's troops were out on their feet, Nick Moore and Jordan Cleary provided fresh legs from the bench but Posset were finding it harder and harder to maintain a challenge and Bodmin's winner arrived after 105 minutes and came rather flukily when their outstanding right winger looped a mis-hit cross which found it's way into Tucker's top corner giving the diminutive keeper no chance.

A lot can be taken from this performance by Posset and they will entertain Bradford Town this Saturday at Bristol Rd hoping to build on the encouraging signs.
